Pizza Hut Changing the Name of Some of Its Restaurants to 'The Hut'

Well, now there's a third reason for me to not go to Pizza Hut anytime soon.  I don't want to be reminded of a giant yellow-green slug, or a pile of slimy pizza that ate himself to death, while noshing pepperoni.

The others being that I'm losing my taste for overcheesed pizza and the fact that there literally isn't one within a hundred miles of me.  Even in Canada.

And also because it's utter crap? :D
And the last time I ate Pizza Slut pizza, I had a very fast and intense case of food poisoning?
And that's why that was the last time I ate anything from Pizza Slut.
Save yourself! Don't eat that shit!

I've never had that kind of problem in a Pizza Hut, but they were kinda greasy. Ruby Tuesdays, on the other hand, I haven't been to since 1990 because I got food poisoning.

Ahhhh, Spaceballs. One corny gag after another, and "Pizza the Hutt" was one of the best. Odd though, it seemed a lot funnier when I was younger. ;)

There's a Pizza-Hut in Swift Current, but given the long drive (over an hour) to get there, it's not something we tend to indulge in. The local Mom & Pop pizzas here are pretty good, and we generally prefer to make our own. The Co-op sells ready-made crusts (including sauce) for $5 for two, and you can top them up any way you want. Even paying full price for a block (or two) of cheese, it's cheaper than eating out and we can have our pizza our way!

Although greasy, at least Pizza-Hut still tastes like Pizza-Hut; not the best, but not bad either. KFC on the other hoof, just isn't the same anymore. I think the Colonel is likely rolling over in his grave. :/

I think you're right about KFC, tho I haven't actually had any fried chicken from there for a year or so. I usually end up getting something from their partner, either Long John Silver's or Taco Hell, or one of their tiny BBQ sandwiches. I've heard they lowered the spices in their Original Recipe.

Sometimes I briefly entertain the idea of getting one of those 'bowls' but that is rapidly followed by 'Ewww!' and the thought that poutine looks more appetizing.

Personally, I love Pizza Hut Pepperoni Lovers pizza, but it is kinda oily. I wonder if it'll occur to the marketing people that by calling it "The Hut" it might imply to some that if you eat there frequently you'll look like Pizza "The Hut." ;P

I thought there was a Pizza Hut in Castlegar, but then I remembered it was a Boston Pizza. The closest one to you in Canada is probably in Cranbrook, but that's a long trip.

Doesn't matter anyway - Nelson has at least one tasty and healthy pizza place that is reasonably priced. :)
